When you think of the credit card industry, you probably think of two major players, and those players are Visa and MasterCard. Now, if you don’t do much research, you’re probably thinking if one is better than the other, and do you think one is better than the other? In my opinion, I really don’t see a difference, since each is accepted just about worldwide.

When you look at the two companies, I really don’t see any differences, besides the logo, and maybe the customer service that you may receive from one. Since many cards are branched to a particular bank, you mainly have to deal with the bank before you deal with these major players. This is why you really don’t have to worry about customer service.

Now, I can tell you a quick story regarding the two. I was at a major league baseball all star game a few years back, and it was sponsored by Visa. Since I didn’t have a Visa card, they wouldn’t let me use my MasterCard, which made me furious. It was the first time in my life that I was rejected because of a MasterCard. The point here is that it may happen when a company is sponsoring an event, but this is so rare.

In the end, you’ll find that the more research you use, the more they seem the same. As long as you get a card from one of these major cards, you’re going to be able to have it accepted everywhere.
