Top 5 Purchases That Could Annoy Your Credit Card

Credit Card

I remember reading somewhere that the best way to determine the morality of an action is to answer the question if you wouldn’t mind the world knowing about it. Well it is extremely difficult to apply this concept every time we make an important decision. Sometimes secrecy is definitely fun! Jokes apart, how about applying this rule to personal finance and see how it helps?

Credit cards are magical portals that open up a world where getting what we desire is made to look easy. But when you are tricked by the spells of credit cards and fall victims to the constant temptation it keeps instilling in you, you are surely in for trouble. There are some purchases that credit card companies hate to see in your bill. As a result, credit ratings go down, you might be considered a prospective defaulter and lot more things could go wrong.

Bottom Line: You are deprived of some benefits.

So here are top 5 credit card purchase for you to avoid, if you want to stay out of an undesirably mess.

1) Over Speeding & Parking Tickets:

So if you go by the rule speed thrills and also by the rule ‘Rules are meant to be broken’ and often end up paying for parking and over speeding tickets, then be sure to make these payments through cash and not credit cards. If you don’t follow this, you would be considered a low category borrower or in simple words a prospective defaulter.

2) Don’t Retread tires Replace them:

I know that it is really silly to advice you to replace tires instead of saving some money. But credit card companies think, your financial condition is going down when you retread tires. Relax!!! Sometimes even I wonder if we still live in a democratic country!

3) Don’t use Credit Cards in Bargain Outlets:

I have not heard anything more ridiculous than American Express restraining benefits for customers who shop in bargain outlets like Wal-Mart. It is believed that a sudden apprehension of wasting few extra dollars could mean that an employment loss could be around the corner.

4) Don’t pay your Relationship Councilor through Credit Card

Credit card companies think that a divorce might bring about a negative drift in financial position. It is also believed the expenses incurred in divorce could leave you bankrupt.

5) Credit Cards & Porn – A Big No

Adult entertainment is no more encouraged by credit card companies. They define it as an escape from real world and hence they consider that you would like to escape making a payment as well. I won’t be surprised if going for a Movie or theme parks fall under escapism from reality in a few years.
